Welcome to our internal rapier tournament, this exciting event will take place on Saturday 28th June! This day is also our anniversary of moving to the new venue, so let’s have a proper party with cake and friendly stabbing.

Your ticket not only allows you to participate in the tournament but will also include entry to Waterloo sparring, and of course afterwards there will be social time at the pub.

Now that I’ve got your interest let’s talk about rules:

– All LHFC members, cleared for sparring can participate, but if you are not a regular Rapier student, please talk to one of dashing rapier instructors, Dan or Edu about your participation.
– No results will be entered in HEMA ratings.
– This is a single rapier tournament, but later in the year we are planning a rapier and dagger one for those bloodthirsty souls.
– Hall will open at 9:00 and kit check will be run until 9:30, do not be late, do, not, be, late. The tournament will take place from 10:00 till 13:00 and Waterloo sparring will happen from 14:00 till 16:00. Then we round the troops and take over a pub.
– Equipment requirements are same as Wessex league https://wessexleague.org/equipment-requirements/ , with one variation: the offhand will require a heavy glove (red-dragon or similar). There will be medals and an adorable prize for the winner but remember the objective of this competition is to have fun, experience a tournament in a safe environment and to give everybody a chance to do some extra sparring, so be nice and be kind to your fellow competitors.
