We are always excited to welcome new students to our classes, but before you get started, there are a few things you need to know.
Booking a class
LHFC offers classes in 4 weapons, which you can learn more about on the ‘Choosing a Weapon’ page. Not all of our classes take newcomers every week, so once you have decided what you are interested in, get in touch with us via our contact form to find out when the next new starters intake is.
Once we have confirmed the class is accepting new starters, you can book through the booking form page. Generally, once you have attended one class, you are free to book further classes provided there is space.
Code of Conduct
Before attending any class you must have read and agreed to our code of conduct. This sets out the rules for participating in our lessons and ensures everyone is treated in a respectful way.
You can find the code of conduct here.
Who classes are suitable for
Anyone can try our classes, provided you are over 18, agree to our code of conduct and have not been barred from another HEMA club.
You don’t need any HEMA or martial arts experience to join us, in fact the majority of our members had probably never studied a martial art before starting HEMA.
If you are disabled, or have concerns about your ability to take part in physical activity, please contact us to let us know, so we can ensure you are able to participate. Our instructors will always do their best to accommodate additional needs.
