What do Niccolò III d’Este, Marquess of Ferrara, Christian IV of Denmark, and Guidobaldo da Montefeltro, Duke of Urbino have in common? They were all patrons of historical fencing – or as they called it ‘fencing’. Now you too can join their august number by becoming a regular donor to LHFC.

As a small charity, securing regular donations make a huge difference. This income enables us to confidently take risks running new classes, keeping our prices as low as possible, and investing in new club kit. They also offer a way for people who can’t fence with us often to show your support.
You might be regular member or a beginner, fencing might mean a lot to a friend, family member or loved one, you might delight in seeing living history rediscovered, or you might just see the real value in supporting small community groups like ours. Whatever the reason, we are hugely grateful for your contribution.
We do want to show you our gratitude too – and we will be inviting your views on how we can reward our donors. This might mean having your name immortalised somewhere in the infrastructure of the club, or – if there are enough people – exclusive events and get togethers. We will certainly value our donors’ views on how we can make the club even better.
What’s more, regular donations will be included in our Summer fundraising campaign – meaning that for every £1 you donate before it ends on 14th July, an additional £1 will be donated by our anonymous donor (up to a total of £5,000 excluding covered transaction fees).
